We’ve been stolen a day! 25 May 2014 is a day our Polaris crew will never live. On our way from Niue to Tonga we passed the point where time begins. Tonga is situated east of 180° longitude which forms the international border of time and date, although this line was moved further east. That is why Tonga now lays to the west of this virtual line and is the first state in the world (together with neighbor Samoa) to greet every new day. We left Niue on Saturday, 24 May at UTC -11 and arrive in Tonga on Monday, 26 May at UTC +13. Crazy! So, in memory of this lost day, how did you spent your Sunday?
